I HAVE MISSED THIS WORLD SO SO SO SO MUCH. I genuinely didn't realise quite how much until I was back at Basgiath with these idiots and their silly, petty dragons again. I am HOME. I absolutely loved getting Threshing Day from all the different POVs. We already know what happens that day and who ends up bonded to what dragon, but seeing it through everyone else's eyes and getting their experiences and stories added so much to characters I already loved and somehow made me even more attached to them. Which feels dangerous considering Rebecca Yarros' track record. RIDOC!!! His chapter was probably one of my favourites. Of fucking COURSE that man ended up with a dragon who matches his energy perfectly. Seeing the two of them together just made complete sense. Two absolute menaces finding each other. Soulmates, unfortunately for everyone around them. And Liam 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 That's it. That's the review. I did not need to be emotionally assaulted by Liam Mairi again, yet here we fucking are. His chapter was not even sad, and still I cried... Also, finding out that THIS is technically the first book where we can actually trust the account of what happened??? EXCUSE ME??? Three books. THREE FUCKING BOOKS and now you're telling me this is the first time I can confidently believe what I'm reading??? Rebecca, I have QUESTIONS and so many theories!!!! The dragons being petty little shits again was everything I needed. I missed them. I missed these characters. I missed Basgiath. I missed this entire world an unreasonable amount. Five stars. Give me book four immediately. I have returned to my Empyrean obsession and apparently there is no escape.

SPOILERS AHEAD It got better as it went, tbh the marked ones stories where way more interesting then the not marked ones My favourites where Imogen, Sloane and Liam’s, I liked the rest of the marked ones too Brennon and Mira felt meh to me, Ridoc was funny, Rhannian’s felt very her too, Seeing how Dain felt about the overbearing-ness of his father was interesting Altho I want more Imogen, more Sloane and Dain, and tbh I’d love more chapters with other POVS in the future about stuff Especially with all the dragons faking who they are and having riders in the same bloodlines

I loved this so much. I loved seeing the different stories, and learning sooooo many things that have fueled more theories in my brain! I need to reread all 4 books soon!
