An Education in Malice
Sumptuous and addictive, An Education in Malice is a dark academia tale of blood, secrets and insatiable hungers from S.T. Gibson, author of the cult hit A Dowry of Blood. Deep in the forgotten hills of Massachusetts stands Saint Perpetua’s College. Isolated and ancient, it is not a place for...

I really enjoyed reading this book. Another book with toxic lesbian vampires? I’m immediately sold. I need 500 more. Why are lesbians just better when they are vampires 😂 they truly go together so well. I really enjoyed both fmcs in this book and they did a really good and beloved job of rivals to lovers/ enemies to lovers. They dynamic between the two characters was great and I loved the domination aspect that Laura had. It added something a little extra to the story. Minus one star because there was a couple of things I wish would have gone a little differently. Mainly I didn’t feel connected to the Isis storyline because we really had no background information on her and Evelyn so I wasn’t able to connect or really care about that part of the story. I didn’t however hate Evelyn with a passion. Overall I really enjoyed this and the audio was very well done, the accents truly made the characters come to life for me. This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be checking their other stuff out. 🌶️ 2.5/5 The slight Dom and voyouristic elements in this really added something and made the scenes even better.

*“She kissed me with a martyr’s agonized desperation, like I was the only sword she ever wanted to fall on. I kissed her right back like the cutting edge of a blade, trying to inflict as much damage as possible.”* What I loved: ✿ dark academia/gothic atmosphere ✿ sadistic, sexy lesbians ✿ beautifully written ✿ happily ever vampire Oooh this was such a quick, fun read even though I would have loved.. a bit more. I wanted more backstory or maybe even a bit more present day moments with the characters. The ending made sense for the story and I loved that it was a cozy, happily ever vampire or at least that's how the author leaves you feeling. If you're looking for more 'toxic lesbian vampires' after Bury Our Bones, this is the perfect read. Trigger warnings: Blood, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, Murder, Alcohol, Death, Death of parent, Abandonment, Homophobia [✿ Connect with me on instagram ✿](https://www.instagram.com/laurynnlately?igsh=aTh6eTZ6dGwxMXpy&utm_source=qr)

I found this book interesting, it’s a bit different from what I normally read. But who doesn’t love a good Toxic lesbian vampire book. The enemies/rivals to lovers was predictable but just as fun and interesting. Laura and Camilla are both complex and well rounded characters. I do wish we got more of them together/other school stuff. But I do feel like this book could’ve gone more in depth on certain aspects, like Iris and Evelyn. I didn’t overly find their relationship interesting, and it was sort of predictable. De Lafontaine was very controlling (and I didn’t like her) But I think her leaving in the end was the best situation, for herself and Camilla/Laura. They will have a better education without being in the complicated situation they were in. I did like the ending, I am happy they end up in a good spot and happy together. Overall I think I just want more, more details and more about the world they are in overall.

I wasn’t a huge fan of A Dowry of Blood, but An Education in Malice completely won me over! The dark academia atmosphere was perfection, and after this and Bury Our Bones (VE Schwab) I’ve officially found a new favorite trope: toxic lesbian vampires... I need more books like this in my life. 🌶️ 3 The intimate scenes were both fun and captivating, loved the power dynamics and a touch of kink kept things interesting. 📚 Reading Between the Vines: 📚 Click Here to Join a Fun Discord Book Club
